T.I.M. will help designers, photographers and creative people
Did you know that our open device T.I.M. Tile Inspection Machine will allow designers, photographers and creative people in general to accurately reproduce the colors of the Catalan hydraulic tiles?
The spectrometric sensor we use, an innovative open hardware device created by the Korean start up nanoLambda with which we have equipped our first T.I.M. prototype , allow to detect the spectal response of the color analysed.
Basically meaning, we obtain a set of numbers that can be described as the unique fingerprint of a specific color. These numbers (a lot of numbers!) can be converted in more suitable triplets of numbers. Some of these triplets are well known by designers, photographers and creative people, as these are the RGB working spaces commonly used in digital arts and graphics. Depending on the device you are using for imaging, image processing and printing (no matter on what material) you will use a specific RGB working space.
But if you want to reproduce accurately an original color, before working with RGB spaces, first of all you would need its fingerprint!
